Gra przenosi nas do ponurej krainy fantasy, która powoli jest pożerana przez siły Entropii. W tym uniwersum ludzkość pogodziła się ze swoim losem i nie próbuje uratować świata. Ocaleli chowają się za murami twierdz, podporządkowani przesądom narzuconym przez swoich władców.
