Islands of Insight to przygodowa gra logiczna zabierająca graczy do fantastycznego otwartego świata, w którym zagadki tworzą samą osnowę rzeczywistości.

Islands of Insight zabiera graczy do świata latających wysp, w którym cała rzeczywistość opiera się na zagadkach. Jako „iskra mądrości”, która zyskała cielesną formę, powoli odkrywamy mitologię uniwersum, zdobywając kolejne informacje na temat naszego stwórcy oraz losu, który jest naszym przeznaczeniem.

Islands of Insight pozwala grać w trybie FPP lub TPP, a całość na pierwszy rzut oka przypomina bardziej grę akcji niż typową produkcję logiczną. Kierowana przez nas postać eksploruje rozległy otwarty świat, lecz zamiast walki i dialogów tutaj najważniejsze są zagadki. W grze znajdziemy zróżnicowane łamigłówki, od rozmaitych wariacji na temat labiryntów i przesuwania płytek, po wyzwania środowiskowe i zabawy z perspektywą.

W miarę postępów w grze nasza postać zdobywa poziomy mistrzostwa dla poszczególnych rodzajów zagadek. W ten sposób zyskujemy dostęp do nowych zdolności i lokacji, w których znajdujemy kolejne zadania. Stopniowo odkrywamy też sekrety świata Islands of Insight, które odsłaniają tło fabularne produkcji.
