Selma (Patience Munchenbach) overhears her boarding school classmates rudely commenting on a video of her father, Michel (Guillaume Canet), who is on parole, and gets into a fight with them. Elises mother (Lætitia Dosch) and her new partner are called in, but the teenager does not feel guilty, even though the headmaster is close to suspending her. The girl loves animals, so she does not intend to change schools. Meanwhile, the media reports extreme atmospheric pollution and acid rains approaching Northern Europe. During another day at high school and a horseback ride, the horse refuses to cooperate with Selma, as if sensing impending danger. When left alone in the woods, the teenager notices approaching clouds, and the situation starts to become dangerous, confirmed by other fleeing and burned equines.
